Wednesday February 4th 2015 . Bagneux-la-Fosse 20,5 km

Last night we had been promised to find our diner in the chambres d’hotes of tonight. With the help of the microwave oven on we could preheat it. However, as we know, every oven is different. Moreover, how long and with what whattage must we prepare our dish to be warmed up here? With or

Tuesday February 3rd 2015. Etouvry 13,5 km

Last night we shared the B & B in Epineuil with six Frenchmen who stayed there one week for their work. So that chambres d’hotes was a beautiful occasion with large vaulted cellars, including kitchen, dining rooms etc. We have not seen the sun all day, though Jos said he did some time, fifteen minutes.

Monday February 2nd 2015. Épineuil near Tonneres. 22 km.

A new day, a new sound (Dutch for another day another dollar). Poor Tosca, in the cold, under a concrete outdoor staircase, between a pair of garbage containers, to protect her from the wind. Although on a dry blanket and wearing a dog coat. You should see how she ran today, didn’t stop for one

Sunday February 1st 2015. Chablis, wine town. 17 km

Cozy breakfast. Waving goodbye to the leaving girls at Moulin de la Coudre at 9.30. En route at 10 a.m. A cold wind is blowing, but fortunately constantly in our backs, so strolling without really getting cold. Many vineyards. That’s what Chablis is known for. See picture. In Beine we asked the way to the

Saterday January 31st 2015 Venoy near Auxerre, a little over 20 km

It all could have been much shorter than 20 km. But then you walk maybe about ekelige (not so nice) roads with trucks and my animals don’t like that at all. So I made a detour, hopelessly long, but beautiful. A long time along a small river, I thought the Yonne, of which the shores

Friday January 30th 2015 Escalives Saint-Camille. About 22 km

The day began with breakfast at the home of our landlord. He is an Englishman and was a French teacher in England. Described himself as an atheist, left wing, still wants to change the world at his 64th, is in City Council, is fundamentally childless. And yet, a nice, likeable guy. In any case cheerful.

Thursday January 29th 2015. Arcy – Sur -Cure. 22 km

We walked from 10.15 to 15.45. When we got up it was raining and it was cold. Forecast: rain all day , and what is more ominous : next week night temperatures of -16 deg. Celcius . Next week, the ladies will drive back in their nice hot cars, but Bri ‘s husband, Jos ,

Wednesday January 28th 2015 St.-Père-chez-Vézelay 20 km

At Vezelay finally vineyards. It remains a lovely, quiet landscape with villages that seem to date from my grandparents’ time. Because I will be left alone a lot because of my companions, I muse again about the loss of a more than 1000 years old farming culture, a bit of my hobby. In Roman times

Tuesday January 27th 2015. From Combres with the M of Marietje, to Bazoches 20 km.

Breakfast at 7.30 am. Then getting Tosca out of the garage, where she slept on the blanket that is familiar to her, the blanket that during the day is on the back of the horse under the saddle. Only, about every night Tosca bites at least one new hole in it, or bites a patch

Monday 26 jan. 2015 Combres 17 km.

All day rain. The administrator of our pilgrims accommodation this morning came to us and made a great effort to say goodbye. But of the addresses that were offered to us last night, so those of sister-in-law Lilian and the naturists address of my collegue Marietje, no one had responded. Only at the English B
