Live can be heavy. Three days ago I went to horse Jo for the first time in order to walk behind Jo, who would ride on his horse, and I walking next to Luka to the little river Gulp, to make Luka waterproof. He didn´t want to get on the trailer. Fortunately Hans came by and helped.
Jo says, we´ll get him waterproof. It happened to rain cats and dogs, so the water of the Gulp was too high to go through. So Jo suggested I would start riding Luka. O.K. First Luka lounced me 4 or 5 times including the time I let myself fell off the horse ´cause he broke away. twice my rain boots didn´t get out of the stirrups, while falling. One day later Jo´s daughter Angele inquiered after my behind. Blue dotted, like the rest of my body, a kind of paint horse in colors white and blue. Jo dressed me with boots and cap. I always usede to ride without a cap, so I soon took it off. Very important is that Jo teaches me how to handle Luka. Give him sweets, pet him, be kind to him. But make him listen. He must respect you. Horses are very sensible, almost like a man.
That was 3 days ago. 2 Days ago the same story± problems with getting Luka on the trailer. But this time I did not need help. So improvement. I only fell twice from the horse Improvement too. I can tell Angele that after a few more drops even my blood may become blue. Like nobelty. Improvement again. And then yesterday. I got him on the trailer without any problem. I could ride him without being thrown off. During my ponyanddogtrip I´ll have to pass regions with free roaming herds of horses. Can I control Luka then. Well, while riding the horses at the other side of the fence galloped up and down, but Luka stayed rather calm. That gives hope. Even the lady horse didn´t make Luka jump over the fence. After the riding lesson the neighbour across the street of Jo´s questioned again the balls of Luka. Also he doubted about the hoofs. No irons. Is he calm with traffic. Can you control him with mares etc. You must be completely sure about Luka. There it goes again. Lately I start answering that I don´want it to be perfect, sure, safe. It must be a challenge, This morning a friend told me confidently that most people think this ponyanddogtrip is a crazy idea . That I´m nuts. He´ll be back in a few weeks and then everybody will scorn him for his idleness. Yes it is a little crazy and uncertain and unsafe. How boring if it were. How about people like Columbus, Livingstone, Marco Polo etc. Their trips were much more extreme. Once a patient told me´by trying the virgins became rare´. Some things you just must do.
